Kobs beat Jinja Hippos 10-7 in the final of the Tooro rugby 7s circuit but the latter moved on top of the 2022 Nile Special Sevens log with 87 points.
With only two circuits, the Kyabazinga 7s and Buffaloes circuits remaining ,the Jinja based side is now 2 points ahead of Heathens on top of the Nile Special Sevens and eyes this year’s silverware.
Pius Ogena and Byron Oketayot scored the two tries for the defending Champions Kobs as they took the seven-leg tournament into mathematics.
Now they target winning the remaining two circuits, Kyabazinga and Buffaloes and are declared champions.
However, they can also win this year’s title, if they reach the finals of the remaining two circuits of Kyabazinga and Buffaloes with any of the three title contenders except Heathens.
Tooro 7s remained the most challenging circuit for the top sides as former winners Stanbic Black Pirates suffered heavily and did not make it through to the knock out stages.
