Uganda Netball Federation president Sarah Babirye Kityo has urged the government to support netball, the way they do other sports disciplines.

She made the appeal in her speech at Mestil Hotel where the She Cranes team had hosted a luncheon on return from New Zealand where it was for the Fast 5 tournaments where they finished fifth overall.

Babirye cited the trips the has traveled and achieved but the players returned home empty-handed despite representing the country effectively.

“We have never received the sh20m president Museveni gave us and also the sh83m which borrowed for Commonwealth preparations and was meant to be refunded to us,” Babirye noted with emotions.

“However, all done we shall continue dedicating our team to God and we shall continue performing,” She stressed adding that watch space the next coming world cup.

She pleaded to the commissioner for Physical education who represented Sports minister Peter Ogwang, ” At least pay our national coach sh10m per month and pay the football coach USD 20,000= we shall not complain.,” she added.
