CHAN Squad of 35 named

Cranes coach, Sredjovic Micho announced a 35-man training team that will represent the country in the AFCON CHAN finals in Algeria in January 2022.

The team enters a residential training at the Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 and will only rest on Christmas Day.

They will be having a double session training till departure on January 1, 2023.

He said while announcing the team at FUFA house, Mengo that with the experience gained at the just concluded World Cup, he is going to prepare a team that will qualify for the knockout stages of the tournament.

This will be the first time Uganda qualifies for the group stages of CHAN but added that that can only be possible if players believe in themselves.

The team is scheduled to travel on January 1, 2022, and play three friendly matches with some countries in West Africa and North Africa between 4-10 and a club in Algeria.

Uganda is in group B and will open with DR Congo on January 14, Senegal on January 18 and Ivory Coast on January 22.
