Determined to make NSSF KAVC International the biggest club volleyball outing on the continent, the organisers of the event have extended their invite for the 25th edition to Zambia, Congo and Zimbabwe.
The volleyball championship is set to take place from August 4-6,2023 at MTN Arena Lugogo and promises to be bigger and better.
According to KAVC president Irene Kiconco, this year’s tournament will be run under the theme ‘Championing Better Community Health and behaviours through Sports’.
The 25th edition of the club championship is expected to attract teams from East African countries and other regions of the continent.
The organising committee chairperson Olive Ekalam added that the club is committed to fronting its object of giving local clubs a high level of the international competitive environment.
“25 years of this tournament, KAVC is committed to quality competition and that is why we stretch the budget to invite the best teams on the continent,” Ekalam said.
She added that the men’s and women’s defending champions Armed Police Rwanda (APR) sides will be coming for the event.
In the men’s category APR beat hosts KAVC in the final while in the women they beat KCCA.
The local teams include KCCA, Ndejje, Nkumba, Uganda Police, Sky, OBB, Sport S, Elion and COBAP.
