Coach Fred Mugerwa’s girls will have to put in their best for results at the Netball world cup in South Africa next week.

The team has been boosted with sh68m from GAL Sports Betting Company ahead of their campaign in Cape Town South Africa due July 28 to August 6, 2023.

The package will also cover the team’s campaign in the Africa Netball Championship.

Brigadier Flavia Byekwaso the acting Uganda Netball Federation President thanked the company for the support and urged others to emulate them.

GSB Uganda, Online products Executive and Marketing, Alex Matovu noted supporting She Cranes is giving back to the community and also promoting the sport that employs the youth.

“As GSB, we looked at netball as a sport for the youth and supporting She Cranes is within our market values.

The team is currently in residential training camp and will soon fly out of the country where they face teams including, Trinidad & Tobago, Singapore and five-time champions New Zealand.

Pool A has 11 title holders Australia, Tonga, Zimbabwe and Fiji while Pool B has England, Scotland, Malawi and Barbados. Hosts South Africa, Jamaica, Wales and Sri Lanka are in pool C.
