Eleven foreign teams of which five are women, will battle Uganda sides for the NSSF KAVC international Volleyball championship titles.
The 25th edition of the championship gets underway this Friday morning with the preliminary stage games at Lugogo National Council of Sports complex.
The local teams including KAVC, KCCA, OBB, SportS, Prisons, Sky, and Police target to stop the visiting foreign sides from Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda from lifting this year’s silverware.
Uganda sides KAVC and Ndejje elite last lifted the title in 2018 however in 2019 only Nkumba University ladies won the trophy for Uganda.
In 2022 Rwanda side APR won both the men’s and women’s titles respectively.
In this tournament, Uganda has 12 men’s teams and 17 women including KAVC, Nkumba, COPAB, Sky, KAVC, Elyon, VVC, Police, Prisons and UCU.
South Sudan has Cobra men and women, Rwanda has APR women, Kenya has Busia men and women, GSU men and Equity men, Burundi has Rukinzi men, Bujumbura Uwezo women and Tanzania has KIU men and women.
